Blink and you’ll miss out on snaring tickets to one of the tastiest, fun and inclusive events on the Big Island: the annual Kona Brewer’s Fest. I’m not kidding — these tickets usually sell out within a couple of hours (or less), so PUT THIS IN YOUR CALENDAR: Tickets go on Sale on Friday, January 31 @ 3pm HST. Thousands of people from around the country converge on Kona for this yearly brew, food, art, culture and sporting event that benefits local non-profits. This year it will be held March 5 – 8, 2014, rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased through the Kona Brewer's Festival website, or at Kona Brewing Company locations in Kona and Honolulu. Limit 10 tickets per person.
All tickets are just $75 and include a commemorative glass mug, ten 4oz Brew Tasting coupons, unlimited gourmet cuisine samplings from dozens of local restaurants and caterers, such as Annie's Burgers, Four Seasons Resort and Rolls With It, to name only a few, and live entertaininment that keeps everyone laughing and dancing. The main events include:
* A Brewers Pa’ina and Art Auction (Thurs 3/6): A unique evening of food & beer pairings is served oceanside at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay. Each course is served with Kona Brewing Company beers. and most dishes feature fresh, locally sourced ingredients and incorporate craft brew in the recipes. Art and culture of Hawaii will also be featured through live entertainment and a silent art auction.
* NEW for 2014! Suds & Sea Benefit Cruise (Fri 3/7): a BRAND NEW exciting 5-hour Benefit Whale Watch and Snorkle Cruise adventure on the Hula Kai.
* 7th Annual Run for the Hops (Sat 3/8): The day of beer tasting takes off with a running start at the “Run for the Hops” 5K / 10K run/walk. Burn those calories to keep that beer belly at bay!
* Kona Brewers Festival Homebrew Competition: The Kona Brewers Festival Homebrew Competition is a local competition sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association recognizing the most outstanding homebrewed beer, mead and cider produced by amateur brewers.
