How do competitive women anglers get ready for a fishing tournament? They dress up as 1920's flappers and dance the night away.  "The Great Gatsby" was the theme for the 19th Annual Huggo's Wahine Marlin Fishing Tournament, held July 26th and the ladies had a roaring good time!

This annual event, which supports Family Support Hawaii (FSH), includes prizes for the best decorated boat, best costumed team, and cash prizes for the biggest marlin/billfish weighing more than 300 pounds. Trophies for the largest tuna, ono and mahi mahi are also be awarded.  With more than 70 boats heading out of Honokohau Harbor each year, this Wahine Fishing Tournament is the largest all-women billfish tournament in Hawaii.

Nearly $150,000 has been donated to FSH over the past 19 years.
